Hello Reeves,
I am impressed that you asked for my feedback.
You will be happy to know that I traded in my 2005 Saleen Mustang to get the Callaway Camaro!
I first found out about Callaway Corvettes through your dealer here, Lawrence Dimmitt at Dimmitt Chevrolet. Lawrence and Mark McIntyre are wonderfully helpful and never impose on the buyer. It was a great experience. I am convinced that they ordered the Camaro on spec knowing that they would be able to sell it to me. I held out for four
weeks... but then gave in! I also met Chris Chessnoe the week after my purchase. He is a great guy. I wish I could be in the car business! You guys make it look so easy!

My 2010 is black and has the supercharger, exhaust and upholstery package. A 3.9-second machine! I have added black-spoke chrome Bose wheels and an Ablaze grill. I will send pictures. I love being a 55-year-old whose car gets sooooo much attention! THANKS FOR MAKING IT FUN TO DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You may use any/all of my comments. Go to Dimmitt's site to see the Saleen and Callaway side-by-side!

Best,
John

SC572 2010 Callaway Camaro, 6 speed

Edmunds InsideLine 5/18/10, Jason Kavanagh, reviews the Callaway Corvette SC606 GS

Not really an owner quote, but an insightful summary from one of the industry's most experienced road test editors:

Second Opinion
Chief Road Test Editor Chris Walton-

"The 2010 Callaway Cars SC552 Camaro SS L99 is about as good as a street-able, supercharged Camaro SS can be. Yeah, it's fast, its brakes are bulletproof and the parts installation is utterly sanitary, but there's more to it than that.

I can say this because we've tested a large number of both stock and modified Camaros in the course of the past couple years. At the time, I even thought the SLP ZL575 was as good as anybody would ever build given a crate full of well-engineered parts and a few hours to bolt them on. But maybe I was premature with that assessment.

What makes the Callaway different is not that it consistently runs to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds, nor that it runs 12s in the quarter-mile or stops (repeatedly) from 60 mph in less than 110 feet. Instead, I'm more impressed that Callaway has managed to extract 552 horsepower from a V8 that digests 91-octane fuel without inducing a single combustion knock or ping. Just as Callaway's motto says, this is "Powerful Engineering."

And there's more. As we like to say, "Understeer will scare an enthusiastic driver in a corner before he runs out of talent or tarmac — whichever comes first." And by now, it's pretty evident that the stock Camaro SS has a generous amount of understeer built into the suspension geometry and tuning in order to restrain the enthusiasm of the car's owners. Yet Pete Callaway has managed to tune the suspension so it enables the Camaro's cornering attitude to be altered with subtle manipulation of the throttle and still acknowledge midcorner bumps without batting a sun visor.

Callaway has engineered a suspension package that does something other than lower the ride height and ruin the ride comfort in an effort to achieve a big number on the skid pad. Instead it has spent the time and money to develop a combination of pieces that adds drivability without sacrificing ride comfort. It's not a secret that springs and dampers should be developed in concert. After all, they're in a constant conversation with one another, so they ought to speak the same language.

This is what makes the difference between the Callaway Camaro SC552 and those other efforts that go only eight- or nine-tenths of the way to creating a completely engineered automobile. Callaway has a reputation for sussing out the details that others miss, or even choose not to address at all."

Dear Mr. Callaway,

Thank you for your letter dated June 23, 2010 regarding feedback about my Callaway Corvette with VIN 1G1YW2DW7A5107474.
I have known of Callaway Corvettes for several years but I had never seen one since there was never a Callaway Corvette dealer in Ohio. A couple of weeks ago I drove from Bowling Green, Ohio to Columbus, Ohio to talk with Rod Stalter at Dave Gill Chevrolet. I was going to talk to him about trading in my 2009 Corvette Coupe and order a 2011 Corvette Grand Sport Coupe. I knew that he had ordered a Callaway but I did not know it had arrived at the dealership until I got there. Before we went inside to talk about ordering a new 2011 Grand Sport we spent quite some time talking about the Callaway. I spent the next two hours trying to justify trading in my 2009 Vette and purchasing the Callaway he had on the lot. All it took was a test drive and I was sold on it. At 8:00 that evening I left there with my new Callaway and left my 2009 Vette there and have not regretted it for a minute.

I had my right hip replaced this past March and still need to get my left one replaced so it takes a little effort to get into my car, but as I told Rod, once in the driver's seat it's well worth the effort. It is the most fun car I have ever driven.

My buying experience with Rod and the rest of the staff at Dave Gill Chevrolet could not have been better. They have made me feel like family and have sent me several e-mails thanking me for my purchase and making sure I am happy with my car and have also called me several times. I have recommended them to several friends already. I have a standing invitation to sit in their tent at any car show they go to. This certainly has meant a lot to me.

I have only owned my Callaway for 16 days but my ownership experience has been fabulous. As I said earlier it is the most fun car I have ever driven. I get positive comments everywhere I go with it. I certainly turns heads. I had seen photos of previous Callaway Corvettes but often times did not like the extensive body modifications that were made because some no longer looked like a Vette. I love that you did not change anything about the Grand Sport body (except of course for the hood scoop). My Callaway is the same color and has the exact same interior as the coupe I traded in. I plan on owning this car for years and years to come.

I have nothing but praises for the car and have had no problems what so ever. Except that I constantly find excuses to have to drive it.

In the past I have owned a 1986 Nissan 280Z, a 1990 Nissan 300Z, a 2000 Corvette coupe, a 2005 and 2006 Corvette coupe and most recently my 2009 Corvette coupe. I truly enjoyed each of them but none come even close to how I feel about my 2010 Callaway Corvette Grand Sport coupe. I absolutely love driving my new car and plan on keeping it for many years.

There is not much that I can think of that could have made my buying experience any better than it was. I am sure you will be nothing but pleased that Dave Gill Chevrolet is now a Callaway dealer also. Rod Stalter is wonderful to work with and makes the buying experience very pleasurable. I can't imagine ownership being any more enjoyable than it already is.

You have my permission to use my comments as a testimonial. I also told Rod that I would be happy to share my experience with anyone who is thinking of buying a Callaway from him. I will be a Callaway "salesman" with anyone I talk to about my car.

I have a few questions for you if you would not mind answering them. How many 2010 Corvette Grand Sport SC 606 Callaways have been built so far and how many do you think will be built in total? How many total Callaway Corvettes do you think will be built in 2010? How many Callaway Camaros do you think will be built in 2010? I joined the Callaway Corvette Owners Club and one of the questions they asked was what number was my Callaway. I'm not sure what they meant by that. Can you tell me what number my SC606 Callaway Corvette is?

Also, would it be possible for me to get a new Callaway window sticker for my car as mine was badly damaged when removed from the front window? I would surely appreciate it and would be willing to pay whatever fee might be involved. Please let me know that you received this e- mail and was able to open it as I have Mac computer and sometimes PC owners cannot open my e-mails. Thank you so very, very much for building such a fine quality automobile. Let me know if you have any other questions for me.

I am going to attach several pictures of me and my car.

Sincerely,

Frank

Reeves

Thanks for your e-mail asking my impressions of my Callaway Supercharged car. My 2007 red convertible was a good car when I bought it last November. Now it is a GREAT car.
I guess I got interested in your cars when my partner purchased his 1990 ZR-1 Super Natural several years ago. I followed the write ups about your cars in the various Corvette magazines that I subscribe to, and decided I had to have one. I made an appointment with Mike Vendetto. He explained the packages, took me for a tour of the shop & I was sold. Actually I was sold before I got there. I signed the papers and that was it. I wish all car deals were as easy.
The car has been terrific, but I had one small problem that your shop fixed while I waited. The air sensor was hitting the hood and chipped the paint, and it was fixed in 15 minutes.
This car is a hit at the car shows and the Corvette gatherings that I go to. Everyone wants to know

1] how fast will it go, my answer is" I don't know and being 70 years old I don't intend to find out.

2] how much did it cost, and I tell them.

3] how long did it take to install, and I tell them, for me in January about 2-3 weeks.
I own three other Corvettes. A 1991 red convertible. with a Lingenfelter 383, a 1995 ZR-1, also dark red, and a 2004 Z06 Commemorative Edition with your Honker cold air system, that Ray at the Corvette Center just installed. I had a 1962 red convertible for 15 years that I recently sold ( ran out of garage space). All my cars are special to me for different reasons, but the Callaway is extra special.
As far as testimonials- several months ago I sent an e-mail to your office saying I would be happy to show my car to any prospects you had down in my area.

I guess I can't give any higher praise. Thanks again for a great car.

Dear Reeves,

Sorry this correspondence is so long in being sent.

My wife and I have loved high performance cars for 30 years and were drawn to marquee year 1987 as a possible addition to our collection. We wound up with two Callaway Twin Turbos, #119 and #127, both roadsters.

We were so impressed that we decided on a new one - and this black/red '08 is a real mind-blower. We thought the '87's were strong, but the '08 has far more power and is much more refined. And, from what I can read, a great deal easier to make than the earlier twin turbos.

I can tell you that your '08 Callaway always attracts a crowd, (we have 90+ Corvettes in our local club) and to date ours is the fastest car in the club - even with my ham-handed style of driving.

We really appreciate the car and the pride you take in building them. The under-hood autographs add a lot and, since Linda and I had the pleasure of meeting you in Bowling Green in May of '07, mean a great deal.

Our experience working out a cracked turbo - under boost problem with 87/127 assures me that technical support, if needed, will be forthcoming.

I should also mention that Superior Chevrolet of Kansas City, was really helpful in obtaining this car. Finding the car we wanted, getting the conversion made, dealing with all the paperwork and then giving us a 4-hour class on how to operate. It was above and beyond.

Attached please find several pictures of what I call the "Red and Black of it" and one shot of what the guys at the "Car Barn" (our restoration shop) call "3 Wolves and a Snake" which is a first year Viper with only 14,000 miles.

To finish, the '08 Callaway is so much fun, we are considering a short course driving school. If we are to really drive this car, might as well show everyone else our tail lights.

Thanks - the car is a gas!

Mike and Linda

Dear Mr. Callaway,

...It took me awhile to figure out how I could get a picture with both me and my 2009 Callaway Corvette together. Using my Nikon's timer did the trick, so I've attached two of the photos I took.

I love my new Callaway so much. In fact, I traded in a 2008 Z51 Corvette that I had spent a good amount of money on to make it the way I wanted. I was just blown away with the performance and the Jetstream Blue color of this machine. I've only had it a couple of months, but I've already clay barred it and waxed it twice.

Weather permitting, I've shown it a few times at the Friday night Tower Shop's cruise-in and my club's (Breathless Performance Corvette Club) Thursday night cruise-in. I had one gentleman tell me two weeks ago that he thought I had the best Corvette, hands down, of all the Corvettes present that evening. With about 20 present at the time, I took that as a real compliment! Of course, having your signature on the fuel rail is a real plus also.

I've had several Corvettes over the past 10 years, and none have ever come close to the performance and handling this machine delivers.

Both Mark Diaz, sales manager, and Robenson Jeannot, salesman, at Tropical Chevrolet in Miami made my buying experience very enjoyable.

Please feel free to use any of my comments as a testimonial, and thank you for the personalized letter and warm welcome. It's been a pleasure doing business with Callaway.

Sincerely,
Ed

09/2009

Dear Mr. Callaway,

I am sending you this email to express how satisfied I am with my new 2009 C6 Convertible Callaway 580. My wife and I visited all the Chevrolet dealership in the Dallas Ft Worth area. She really wanted a convertible Corvette but I was hesitant to spend the additional money for a convertible. This event of finding the perfect car and color took place over several days until we stumbled upon Young Chevrolet. After arriving at the dealership we immediate strolled by all the Corvettes parked outside. After about 20 minutes we decided to go inside and cool down from the hot Dallas summer. Upon entering the showroom floor she noticed a black convertible with the hood up. When I saw the Callaway supercharger I had to hold back my excitement from the salesperson so I would not be so obvious with my delight.

Well, to make a long story short, we now own one of your cars (the one in the showroom) and couldn’t be happier with the car. Actually the convertible turned out to be the best for me because I’m 6’6” and don’t have to worry about knocking my head on the roof.

My wife and I have been looking for something we both enjoy doing together now that our two children have gone off the college. This vehicle has given us complete satisfaction by spending quality time together cruising around the DFW area and meeting all sorts of new people in. We are members of two local Corvette clubs and we go to every car show we can each weekend. You probably already know the amount of looks and gazers we get when we pull up and folks notice the Callaway Corvette. I spend more time cleaning the engine than the exterior and we have already won two trophies for Best Show Car. We won 1st prize in a local Corvette show (see attachment) for St. Jude charity and 2nd place in a local Muscle Car show just last weekend.

I’m still amazed how much attention this car brings to those looking and taking dozens of pictures every time we take the Callaway out. Most want to know where and how I obtained such a beautiful car and I always refer them to Young Chevrolet. Young has been a great dealership to deal with as well.

If there is anything I can do to help promote or assist Callaway in the future please let me know. I would be happy to discuss or show my Callaway Corvette to anyone.

Thanks again,

Jerry and Teri

Reeves -

Feedback on something that has become the love of my life is hard to explain. I was first introduced to Callaway at Spring Mountain in 2008 and fell in love with the car. After taking the advertisement back to our house I discussed the car with my wife who thought I was nuts. I proceeded with looking at the new Corvette ZR1 and put my name on three different lists but at $110,000.00 plus 50k dealer bonus I thought that was too much money at the time. Callaway specs were very close to the new ZR1 and about $75,000.00 less.

My wife has never driven the Callaway Corvette but once she saw your facility and the styles and met Pete, I was home free. The hands-on care, support and professionalism is something that I have never experienced in my entire business career. Since getting the car in April, I have put on over 10,000 miles, weekend driving only, and trying to justify ordering another one.

Thanks again for making weekend driving a hell of a lot better.

Dear Mr. Callaway

This car is my 5th Corvette since 2001. The last four have come from Purifoy Chevrolet In Ft. Lupton, CO.

Rollie and Jay Gross have become good friends as well as a great dealership to do business with. My 01-03-05 Corvettes were convertibles. In 07 I bought a ZO6 and was very impressed with its performance. I had been wanting to get a ZR1 but could not get any definite time when I could get one.

Jay has mentioned your company many times and had just got the car I have in. He asked me to come up and drive the car( I live 60 miles from the dealership) and he said I would be amazed with its performance. He wasn't kidding. This is by far the most enjoyable Corvette I have owned.

Purifoy has always been fair on their pricing and I generally am on my way within an hour of being there. I don't check with any other dealers on price because I feel Purifoy gives me the best possible price.

I was at the car wash yesterday and five individuals came over to see my car. All were blown away. I generally get a new Corvette about every 2-21/2years.

You certainly can be proud of your product.

Regards

Dick

PS
I am only 70 years old and still have a lot more Callaway Corvettes in my future.

Hi Reeves,
In response to your query, I am not sure of when I first became aware of Callaway Corvettes. It would have been a long time ago but I do know that I have always considered Callaway Corvettes to be the highest level of Corvette own could own. I have always wanted one and now have one. Mine is the 2009 Cyber Grey car that Pete rebodied with the Z06 front and back. Working with Pete was a joy. You have to be very proud of him. He is an outstanding and bright young man and I trust his judgment on your cars unquestioningly. My car is an example of great taste, finesse, build quality and performance. I could not be more pleased on the outcome. I have never driven a better car.

Yesterday we picked up my brothers 2006 convertible that was converted into a Callaway as he was so impressed with my car that he had to have his made into a Callaway. He is a happy camper.

E. Reeves,

I do not have time for a full response, but I will say that although I had a 2006 Corvette convertible, I looked at EVERY other available car including the Scorpion, and hybrid sports cars priced from $70K to $165K. Do to my recent health developments, this may be the last car I ever get. I did serious web research on each vehicle considered. Even without a lease, I bought the Callaway outright. I saw it as the best and most economical car comparable to a ZR-1 and a Cobra in horsepower, but I also considered every German and Japanese sports car with horsepower over 400. The Cobra and ZR-1 are either not available or seriously overpriced with mark-ups! We've had snow and we went on vacation since I got the Callaway, so I have not driven the vehicle on a long trip yet. Long (read:over 20 miles one way). I was going to this Monday, but my client canceled. As soon as we get real Spring-like weather, I'll be out more. I like to see it clean, so I even avoid rain if I can schedule my clients advantageously. I am scheduled to drive the Gotham Dream Cars in May. So, I'll really be able to compare the Callaway with foreign sports cars costing four to five times as much, and with almost as much horsepower.

Walt

P.S. I almost bought the Scorpion, but that's a story for another day.

Mr. Callaway

I want to thank you for making the best corvette in the world. I'm a T5 paraplegic so I need hand controls to operate the car. I can't drive a manual transmission. The 6 speed automatic with the paddle shift is awesome. I have a 2002 35th anniversary Trans Am, 2007 Saleen supercharged mustang. The mustang has 465 hp its no doubt fast but the Callaway is in a class of it's own. My dad has a 2007 Saleen extreme mustang that makes 550 hp. We haven't raced yet but I have a feeling that the Callaway will hurt his feelings. Are you going to make a Callaway ZO6? I bought my car at Young Chevrolet in Dallas. They are a great dealership. I love fast cars in away I'm like you. Thank you so much. I may be the only guy in a wheelchair that has a Callaway!

What was the original attraction (how did you find out about Callaway?)

I knew about your involvement with Corvettes since the 1980’s.

How was your buying experience?

Great, right from the driving experience up to and including the negotiations.

How were you treated by Callaway staff or dealership personnel?

As a multi purchaser from the Henderson Chevrolet dealership I always get treated special. What was a GREAT unexpected benefit is the way all the Callaway staff treats me.

What has been your ownership experience? First impressions vs. longer term thoughts.

First impression – I was going to test drive a Viper, never got there. The Callaway Corvette delivers power all across the power bandwidth with incredible refinement. I’ve never driven anything this impressive. That’s why I bought it.

Longer term – the car continues to delight me. Driving around town it handles gracefully with not a single issue (even in the hot Las Vegas summer heat). And when I go full throttle – well, let’s just say the smile never comes off my face.

Praises/ Problems?

The Callaway Corvette is without a doubt the best price performance sports car in the world.

Only problem I had was the “y” on the Callaway decal on the driver’s side came off. Your company sent an entire Callaway decal as replacement. That’s customer service to the max!

What other cars have you had/enjoyed and how does the Callaway stack up?

I own a small Corvette collection that is based on a “power” theme so the Callaway fits right in. There really is no comparison as the Callaway drives so civil around town then becomes a truly fast sports car when I go full throttle.

What can we do to make the car or the buying experience and ownership more enjoyable?

Just keep doing what you’re doing.

What was the original attraction (how did you find out about Callaway?)
My wife brought Callaway to my attention. She sent me the link to Purifoy and I originally went there interested in the ZR1. The Callaway caught my eye right off. It took me a couple weeks to make the decision, ZR1 or Callaway? As you can see, I went with the Callaway and with no looking back now.

How was your buying experience?
It was a pleasure working with Steve at Purifoy in making my decision and collecting information.

How were you treated by Callaway staff or dealership personnel?
I have to give big cudos to the Purifoy staff. Steve made the buying experience enjoyable and informed. His follow up after the purchase is what I remember it use to be growing up. Not the standard you find most places these days where once the car is sold, the salesman leaves too. I consider the relationship I have built with Purifoy in this purchase to be a lasting one.

What has been your ownership experience? First impressions vs. longer term thoughts.
I have received a lot of questions as to what is a Callaway. When I have your brochures available, I distribute them. If not, I point them to Purifoy's and your website. Though I don't drive a lot, I find myself finding any excuse to take it for a ride. If just to the Grocery store or to drop off the mail. This is one car that will be a one owner vehicle!!

Praises/ Problems?
A few paint blemishes from the factory (GM) that are concerning and one in the blue on the hood. But, being a long-time Quality Guru and perfectionist, I tend to look deeper at items I have purchased. There is an issue with the GPS and the Telescopic Steering Column as well as an engine stall that occurs when running around 25 mph and then hitting the accelerator hard. As soon as the weather clears up, I plan on taking to Purifoy to have them investigate.

What other cars have you had/enjoyed and how does the Callaway stack up?
I built out a 69 Z28 in high school and then demolished it running against a Boss Mustang. Made a permanent convertible out of it, sad to say. It was sweet too. I bought one of the last 2002 Trans Am WS6 Convertibles before it left the factory for Denver. Ended up trading it in on a 2006 Corvette Convertible and getting what I paid for it as a trade in. Took that 2006 Corvette and now have the Callaway. Sweet Ride, I must say.

What can we do to make the car or the buying experience and ownership more enjoyable?
My only thought is pay a little more attention to the paint. That is the first thing people see and it says a lot about the car, the maker and the owner.

Hi Reeves

Great hearing from you, now let’s see if I can answer your questions in the letter you sent. The original attraction was the appearance and then the test drive, and what a test drive it was, that was the hook.

The buying experience was great, Juan Perez the salesman from Rydell Chevrolet Van Nuys was great, he took his time and explained everything he knew about the Callaway and the other Corvettes on the lot, we went for a test drive in several cars including the Z 06’s and as far as I was concerned, the Callaway was the ticket, there was no comparison between the Z06 & the Callaway to me.

My ownership experience is just great, I can’t get enough of driving the car, whatever tensions that I have built up during the day goes away when I close the door on the Callaway., as for longer term thoughts, the only way I will ever get rid of this car will be if I buy another Callaway in the future, I do truly love this car. I have not had any problems and keeping my fingers crossed hope I never do.

I have had many cars in the past, at the moment I also have a 1969 Corvette convertible with a 502 4 speed, and a 1991 coup six speed that I have done so many upgrades to, including adding a supercharger, nitrous and everything fast, but there is something about the Callaway that no other car I have owned can compare to, it’s hard to explain, but I am sure the others out there that have purchased one of your cars also have this feeling, in fact if there is a Callaway club here in Southern California I would like to join.

The only think I can think of to better improve the general overall experience would if you could offer a modest interior up grade as a car with this much class should have a little something extra for when someone looks inside, I just recently had the middle areas of the seats changed to a gray that matches the center part on the hood and that little change makes all the difference, and by the way the car is black. I will be contacting you in the very near future to do the suspension upgrade.

Attached is a photo of my Callaway and me.

All the Best

What was the original attraction to the Callaway Corvette? How did you find out about Callaway?

I've read many magazine articles about Callaway cars over the past few years and as one always interested in muscle cars the attraction to the Callaway was natural and automatic.

How was your buying experience?

I've purchased cars from Selman and used their service dept. over the 35 years I've lived in Orange County. My experience dealing with them has always been positive. The purchase of my Callaway was very positive.

How were you treated by Callaway staff or dealership personnel?

Very professionally and fairly.

What has been your ownership experience? First impressions vs. longer term thoughts. Praises/Problems?

The Callaway is my first Corvette and it has been a completely enjoyable driving experience. It handles as good or better than any other car I've ever had and of course from a horsepower point of view it has been unequaled. With GM's Corvette design and engineering and the Callaway power package I've never had so much fun driving a car.

What other cars have you owned or considered and how does the Callaway Corvette compare?

1950 Ford coupe with a '54 Mercury V8, Weber carbs and a Hurst 4-on-the-floor during college, 1960 Chevy Impala hardtop, 1974 Pantera L, Porsche 911, 911S and 911 Carrera, 1994 Camaro Z28 which I modified to boost the HP to 380.
They were all enjoyable in their time but so far the Callaway has been the best.

What can we do to make the car, the buying experience, or ownership more enjoyable?

Additional products specific for customizing and personalizing the Callaway.

Mike,

Just wanted to touch base and say hello. I spent the last few days blasting around the track in multiple Corvettes. The last half of one of the days I drove my blue car. She ran like a champ ! The new track at Palm Beach is much different then the old track. (Better). The car never missed a beat. The stock brakes and pads definitely got a work out.

I was very happy how the car ran. You build a great product.

Thanks,

Hi Reeves,

I was first introduced to the Callaway at a Simi Valley Corvettes club meeting. Representatives from Rydell Chevrolet brought one to our club picnic. I was driving an 04 C5 and thinking of trading up to an 08 Z06. The only thing holding me back was the stick shift. My wife and I drive stick, but prefer an automatic. When I learned that the Callaway was available with the 6-speed automatic and the removable top I had to have it. I ordered one two days later at Rydell. The car is really quick and fun to drive and has been trouble free. I have also owned a 1972 De Tomaso Pantera which was fun in its day, but no comparison to the Callaway. I enjoyed meeting you, Pete and your staff at the open house. Feel free to use my comments.

What was the original attraction (how did you find out about Callaway?)

We were looking for an 08 Vette as Chevy was offering 0% financing. We thought we could get a "good deal" on a Vette this time of year. Our other criteria was a red or blue Vette with removable roof. Criswell only had 2 08 red Vettes, a LT3 and the Callaway (no blue Vettes on the lot). The price difference was about $15K

How was your buying experience?

Very good

How were you treated by Callaway staff or dealership personnel?

Very well

What has been your ownership experience? First impressions vs. longer term thoughts.

We like buying from Criswell

What other cars have you had/enjoyed and how does the Callaway stack up?

We used to have a '95 Vette and '98 Vette. The Callaway is by far THE BEST

What can we do to make the car or the buying experience and ownership more enjoyable?

Can't think of anything

After owning several Z06 Corvettes, I decided to buy a Callaway Corvette. We took delivery of the car at the Old Lyme facility and thought the drive back to Arizona would be a good way to get to know the car. As we pulled into the Callaway parking lot, there as my car out front and ready to go. We were greeted by Joanne in the office and were given a warm welcome and a tour of the shop. Back in the office we met Mike who explained all the features of my car and answered all my questions. Everyone made us feel like part of the family.
It only took a few minuets behind the wheel to realize this car was something special. The power of the Callaway is something that needs to be experienced. It pulls the minute you hit the gas, and it doesn't take long to run out of road! With the Callaway/Eibach suspension, this car gives you all the confidence you need to really enjoy the most challenging roads. All of the Callaway modifications are perfectly blended to an already good car to make it a truly affordable supercar. This a car I will enjoy for many years to come.

Thank you Reeves, and everybody at Callaway, Mark and Terri

Hi Reeves:

Thanks for your recent note requesting owner feedback on my new SC 580. I had been aware of the Callaway brand (and reputation) for several years but never dreamed I might have the opportunity to own one.

This is the 3rd Corvette I have owned and its performance far surpasses any vehicle I have ever driven! It's obvious that in addition to the Callaway modifications, skilled hands have tweaked this vehicle to perfection! It seems that some of the quirks (on the factory stock Vette) that I heard about are not present on my vehicle.

Late last spring, I became excited to learn that my local Chevrolet dealer had been selected to market your product. The vehicle I purchased was one of the original ordered for their stock. The dealer sales experience was great as it was very obvious that, they too, were equally as excited about their "new" line. The sales personnel were very knowledgeable on the product and I had the good fortune to meet your representative, Chris Chessnoe, prior to making my purchase decision. I had been considering a Z06, and was provided with the opportunity to drive the Z06 and the SC580....no further salesmanship was needed! The decision took care of itself (a "no brainer" in my book).

Since my purchase I've had the opportunity to interface with some of your staff and must say that you are indeed fortunate to have people in your company with such enthusiasm and dedication. It's a great feeling (for any owner) to know they are dealing with professionals in a "stand up" organization! Additionally, I have recently become a part of the Callaway Owners Group and feel like I have extended family.

In the near future, I plan to add the short shifter, and the Callaway wheels. Since the exterior badging and modifications on the SC580 are very subtle, I would strongly urge that the Callaway wheels be made a part of the base package. This would allow the exterior changes to remain very minor (and subtle) but would help to make the car instantly recognizable as a Callaway.

Congratulations on a fine product (and company) and I wish you the best in the coming year!

What was the original attraction (how did you find out about Callaway?)

Callaway is a household name to true Vette enthusiasts.

How was your buying experience?

We had bought my car initially and then researched upgrades for the car. We had looked at all the options out there for my new 2008 Vette. We decided on Callaway due to the warranty and service available for the car after installation

Also the access to dealers to work on the car is foremost in the industry. It was a pleasure dealing with the Callaway staff and Chris in answering all of our question and concerns and dealing with all of our e-mails

How were you treated by Callaway staff or dealership personnel?

Reeves and his staff at Old Lyme were more than helpful in the research and question process. Everyone took the time to answer questions and our concerns

What has been your ownership experience? First impressions vs. longer term thoughts. Praises/ Problems?

The car is all it was said it would be. Thus far we are ecstatic with our decision to do the Callaway package. Based on research and past ratings I expect the Callaway to perform as stated for a long time and we have no problems to date!

What other cars have you had/enjoyed and how does the Callaway stack up?

We have had many Vettes of earlier and newer years in the past but nothing compares to the Callaway performance and appeal.

What can we do to make the car or the buying experience and ownership more enjoyable?

As always bigger and faster is the status quo I know they are researching a 4 lobe supercharger to increase performance and that is impressive, we are quite happy with our decision

Thank you all very much! We will be back in the future for a C16

Dear Joanne,

I initially started my research on the Callaway Vette about a year ago after seeing an ad in the newspaper that a certain dealership was an official supplier of the brand. After visiting your very well informed website, I was completely impressed from everything that I had the privilege of learning and being subjected to in my desire to go forth with the purchase of this truly amazing automobile.

Earlier in the year, I bought a 2008 Corvette Z06 and had so much pleasure from behind the wheel after logging almost 3000 miles in it. I then realized an article that I had previously read in a performance car magazine many years ago. It basically stated that if a person who appreciates a vehicle in all of its performance enhancing characteristics, then that individual would marvel at what Mr. Callaway and his genius and expertise were able to accomplish. This man is, for all the obvious reasons, a pioneer and his induction into the National Corvette Museum is so readily apparent. His company and products and services have delivered absolutely everything that was advertised and have made my personal experience with his staff and sales people at the dealership level included to be very enjoyable. I even had a Callaway engineer give me his personal cell number. How is that for customer service!!!

Words do not accurately describe the feeling for myself when the question of whether the stock Z06 comes close to comparing with a Callaway induced Corvette. You yourself will decide very quickly and decisively!

Mr. Callaway and his staff are a one of a kind gem in the automotive world. I truly wish more folks could have the same experience and I know they will if they, in fact, decide to go the path of the Callaway. I know I must sound like a paid commercial person. However, this company and its outstanding level of commitment has made a true believer out of me first hand! I could not be happier or more impressed. I hope more people who are Corvette enthusiasts, would do themselves a tremendous favor and drive one these incredible machines and then and only then will you have a comprehensive evaluation on this vehicle versus others. Again, completely one of a kind and phenomenal!

Sincerely and Best Regards,

Jeff

Greetings!...Sorry I have not written back to make comments on my Callaway '08

Well, I got the car from Purifoy Chevrolet in Ft Lupton CO early in April...barely got it home after which we got about 16" of snow. Purifoy
got me interested in a Callaway back in '07, and I ordered an '08 right away by May of last year. I had heard of Callaway because of Purifoy in the past, but never really thought I'd get one but Corvette has it right and so does Callaway.

I actually talked with Callaway a couple of times, mainly to ask when the car was going to be done, but after that about potential add-ons, like the metal bars around the Double-D exhaust.

Since then I've been able to put about 3k miles on the car and it is GREAT. It is so satisfying from all perspectives, looks, feel, power, control, and still with all the technology bells and whistles.

My donor car was a 4LT Crystal Red '08 Auto/Paddle Shifters.

The car has been bulletproof with no problems whatsoever. I had the first 9500ci built-in Radar Det and F/R Laser Jammer installed as well and the whole car looks like its from the factory.

When I looked at other cars, I looked at the Turbo Carrera, Aston Martin, and an Audi R8. I wanted a reliable car, but with great fit and finish, fast as hell, and with all the technology options. The R8 was amazing, but it still felt like furniture, same with the Aston Martin. The Turbo was the second choice, but it's a bit noisier and, ya know, .the Vette is just as well built and it's from America, which always gets me going if it matches up on quality/features.

Sure, you can use this as a testimonial...I pasted in the picture from Purifoy when I picked up the car (and raced home to beat a blizzard...no flakes fell on the Callaway by about 45min)

Also, I included some current pictures of the car all polished up with Zano Brothers Polish.

The only thing I would say I might like a bit less is the 'bass' drone at about 45mph-60mph when you have to put on the accelerator. If you are listening to the radio/stereo you can ignore it but otherwise, sometimes its a bit intense....

Joanne:

I'm glad to accommodate your request, lets start with the picture, I'll send it along in a separate attachment.

By the way our Callaway Corvette is titled in my wife's name, Ashley.

Most of our cars are titled that way and Ashley enjoys driving the sports cars whenever she cares to, however, that's infrequently, I drive them the most.

As to our sports cars we simply savor each driving experience and accordingly cherish our high performance sports cars in such a way that none of them accumulate or have very many actual miles recorded on them. Our experience so far is that our sport cars enjoy the privilege of being driven well less than 1500 miles per year on average.

As the Callaway Corvette is in a Super Car class and the "cream-of-the/our-crop" it may well end up with a even lesser yearly average; somehow that would seem fitting.

Reeves called me last week Thursday the 25th (at 12:02) and we enjoyed about a 25 minute conversation During the chat he also asked for feedback. Of course, I said yes! If you don't mind I'll send the same letter(s) to you both. After you and Reeves receive it/then you can decide if it/they cover all the car buying and car owning aspects that you care to have Ashley and I comment on?

By way of record the Callaway Corvette that we purchased was assembled at Bowling Green KY and is a 2008 Coupe, its color is Jetstream Blue Metallic Tintcoat with a Ebony interior. It has a 6-speed manual transmission. As you know before Reeves got a-hold of it, this 6.2 liter Vette developed 430 Hp at the flywheel. Since Callaway Cars Inc. improved the car it now develops 585 Hp at the flywheel. I also love the changed ride package, the Grey colored hood node that allows room for the Callaway Supercharger doing its work underneath, the Callaway exhaust system, etc. The power and acceleration is a exhilarating. Joanne, could you tell me please the name of the color on that hood node?

Other questions that I have: When did Callaway have the car to do its changes and additions and make it a Callaway, and where was this done? Can you tell me please what number in your production run of 200 cars was the Thebeau's VIN 1G1YY25W585127659? Was the car shipped back and forth by train or over-the-road carriers? You get the idea. Any other details or information that I might not know enough about to ask would also be appreciated?

As you know - but again for the record: we purchased the car from Superior Chevrolet in Shawnee Mission KS, 66201-0410, and it has optional equipment on it from Chevrolet that includes their Z51 Performance Package.

Thanks again, you know Reeves will be visiting Kansas City and Superior Chevrolet tomorrow, Tuesday, September 30. Reeves has invited me to join him earlier in the day, about 2. I told him that Ashley and I would do just that. As I remember Reeves told me his plane arrived about 11 am. This Reeves Callaway get together with us would be before the ZR1 Corvette introductions and Bar-B-Q and other events that Superior has planned.

We agreed that we would meet at Superior. I know that we will likely discuss several of the items that were in our conversation on ////// We appreciate his making himself available to us for further conversation, autographs (on the purchase documents - engine block and etc) pictures and the like. We simply love our Callaway Corvette.

Ashley and I look forward to the E. Reeves Callaway, Founder of Callaway Cars, Inc. visit. We can say firsthand that your company slogan of "Powerfully Engineered Automobiles" is accurate, engaging and stimulating.

Dear Mr. Reeves Callaway,

We have owned a Corvette now for over 18 years. Our first Corvette was a used 1987 Coupe, which we traded in on a 1996 (last year of the C-4) Coupe which my wife daily drives still today. I have over the years heard of Callaway Corvettes, but never had thought seriously of owning one! Today we own three Vettes, the '96, a '98 Pace Car (with a six speed manual transmission), and now the '08 machine silver convertible Corvette, which your shop did the conversion on here in Laguna Beach, California.

How we found about the Callaway Vettes, was that both my wife and I are members of Vintage Corvettes of Southern California (check out our web site at www.vintagecorvettessocal.com) and that Donny Yorke of Rydell Chevrolet brought out to our club meeting in June a Callaway Coupe, and went over the car's features, price, and handed out flyers on the vehicle. He had explained that Rydell Chevrolet was now a fully authorized dealer of your cars. Well, that got my engine revving, so to speak, and I started to think maybe we could trade in our 2004 Commemorative Edition Coupe on a new Callaway.

The buying experience was very low key, no pressure tactics. I felt that the whole sales experience was good, and that Rydell Chevrolet did a great job!! I just wish that Rydell Chevrolet was a bit closer to me, as we live about 35 miles away in Torrance, and the dealership is in Northridge. We have had to take the car in for its first warranty repair, as a seal in the rack- in pinion steering starting to leak, and Rydell's Donny Yorke who is the shop foreman at Rydell, made sure our car was ready to go, as we had a trip planned to go to Laguna Seca in Monterey, California in mid August for the historic races.

The car was simply great out on the open road, we have about 1300 miles on it so far. When we took delivery, the car had 246 miles on it. It's hard to keep her under 100 MPH !! We look forward to many years of enjoyment in driving this car!! I hope this answers your questions about our experience, with regards to the buying, driving, and ownership of such a fine automobile!!

I have attached a picture of my wife and I on the morning of taking delivery of the car - Saturday July 12. I guess our only disappointing experience, was how long it took for us to finally take delivery of the vehicle, as we had purchased the vehicle on June 12!! It took, from my understanding, the California Air Resources Board a very long time to approve the smog certification of the supercharger to the new LS-3 engine. I guess when you are dealing with government entities, you just have to learn to be patient, but mine was certainly put to the test. I even called and spoke to Pete, to really try to get a better understanding on why this could take so long to get approved. Thanks for the letter, and the Callaway floormats. That was a pleasant surprise!!

Kindest Regards,

Robert

Hey Mike,

AWESOME!!!! A truly amazing experience driving this car. I can't get the smile off my face. (It's parked outside my window here at work right now and I can't stop looking at it)  Make sure you thank Reeves for talking me into the suspension!! The power is great, I knew it would be fast, but the ride is a major improvement.

I love a company that "under sells and over delivers"  I couldn't be happier. It was a pleasure working with you. You made the experience a blast from start to finish. My Dad and I loved the tour. Damn! You guys are smarter than you look!!! LOL

Anyways, include me on a list of references for anyone who's thinking of this, I'll sell you up one side and down the other.

What was the original attraction to the Callaway Corvette? How did you find out about Callaway?

I first heard of Callaway Corvettes in the late eighties, but I never saw one.  Later, when I bought my first Corvette coupe (2002 C5), I was re-introduced to the Callaway name, but again, I had not seen one.  I first saw the C-12 Callaway Corvette in 2003 at “Corvettes on the Circle” in Sarasota, Florida.  After trading my second Corvette (2006 C6) and taking delivery on my 2008 Corvette convertible, my salesman at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, Florida, informed me that they had just become an Authorized Callaway Corvette Chevrolet Retailer.  At first, I thought I would stay with the stock convertible, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized I had to complete my dream Vette with a Callaway Supercharger Package.  After all, the Z06 and the ZR1 Corvettes are not convertibles and this option will make the 2008 Corvette Convertible a very special Vette.

How was your buying experience? How were you treated by Callaway staff or dealership personnel?

The Callaway buying experience was inspiring in of itself.  Mike Vendetto in Connecticut was informative as he answered my many questions over a two month period before I made the purchase, during installation and after taking delivery.  Chuck Vaughn-Lloyd of Dimmitt Chevrolet has also been informative through the process by investigating and patiently answering questions.  Before my decision to purchase the SC580 Supercharger Package, a Supercharged Callaway Coupe and Callaway Convertible arrived at Dimmitt and were displayed in the showroom.  The Dimmitt sales manager graciously scheduled a test drive of the Supercharged Callaway Coupe.  It was an impressive ride.  Soon after, my 2008 Corvette Convertible was shipped to Callaway for installation of the SC580 Supercharger Package.  I later added the Callaway Shifter to the purchase.  While my Vette was away, I often visited Dimmitt to see the Supercharged Corvettes in the showroom.  Those visits were very inspirational.

What has been your ownership experience? First impressions vs. longer term thoughts.

My Supercharged Callaway Corvette Convertible is everything I had hoped for and more.  Acceleration is phenomenal and the polished Callaway Supercharger glimmers like jewelry.  In addition, the Callaway name is recognized by Corvette enthusiasts at local Corvette shows.   The highest complements include the professional factory like installation and overall quality.

This Callaway Corvette Convertible is timeless with shear horsepower in a roadster that trumps the Z06 Coupe and compares to the ZR1.  In addition, the Callaway Supercharged Corvette Convertible is listed in the N.A.D.A. Classic Collectible and Special Interest Car Appraisal Guide that also includes Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Porsche, etc.

Praises/Problems?

I have only the highest praise for the Callaway SC580 Supercharger Package.  While there are many other supercharger products on the market, the Callaway Supercharger Package carries a comprehensive warranty not available through most venders and the 5-yr, 100,000 mile GM warranty on the drive train is unaffected.  The Corvette runs great with no problems of any kind.

What other cars have you owned or considered and how does the Callaway Corvette compare?

I have had many sportscars including 1993 Z-28 Camaro, 1995 Honda Prelude Vtec, 1996 Nissan 300ZX, as well as three Corvettes).  None of these other cars were as powerful or as much fun as the three Corvettes.  With the 300ZX, folks (and I) were always comparing it to the Corvette.  Eventually, I decided to buy a Corvette.  In November of 2001, I bought my first Corvette; a 2002 C5 Coupe (Torch Red/Black), 1SC Preferred Options Group, 4-Speed Automatic Transmission, Polished Wheels with Goodyear EMT Tires, 12 CD Changer.  I needed an automatic because this Vette was a daily driver.  I later installed Michelin pilot sport all season runflats, tinted windows, black outs (front and back), C5 bezels on the taillights, B&B Touring Catback Exhaust system, I loved that Vette.

However, when the new C6 Coupes arrived I had to have one.  I sold my C5 along with all the after market items on it to a co-worker who bought it for his wife.  I am not sure if she knows how special that Vette is.  The good news is that she still owns the Vette and I am told she also loves it.  Anyway, I bought the 2006 C6 Coupe (Le Mans Blue/Black) in November 2005 with options that included the 3LT Preferred Options Group, 6-Speed Paddle Shifter Automatic Transmission, and Polished Wheels with Goodyear EMT Tires.

In September of 2007, I purchased a daily driver.  At that time, I decided to get my dream Corvette.  In November 2007, I bought the 2008 Corvette Convertible (Red/Red/Black) with options that included the 3LT Preferred Options Group, 6-Speed Manual Transmission, Polished Wheels (new style), Z51 Package, and Dual Exhaust System.  At the time of purchase, Dimmitt was not an Authorized Callaway Service Center.  After Dimmitt became a Callaway service center I sent my Vette to Connecticut for installation of the Callaway SC580 Supercharger Package.  By the way, I have to say that the manual transmission is without a doubt the way to go with a corvette.  Adding the Callaway short throw shifter to the installation was the right decision as it helps to hit the shifts with tremendous accuracy.  The ease and accuracy of the Callaway shifter adds even more fun to driving.  Finally, I have my dream Vette.

What can we do to make the car, the buying experience, or ownership more enjoyable?

In the future, I may add Callaway suspension, brake and/or interior options to my dream Vette.  At that time, I am sure I will again be very satisfied with the Callaway and Dimmitt buying experience and ownership of my 2008 Callaway SC580 Supercharger Corvette Convertible.

Reeves,
I hope you are well. I just wanted to let you know that you and your firm have done it again!

I had the 616 upgrade performed to my 560 horse 2006 Vette and also the Callaway/Eibach suspension improvement (in March 2008). I have to say that both were well worth the dollars. I love the suspension upgrade it definitely makes a difference replacing $20 dampers with high quality units.
I’ve had the car back now for about 4 months and I’m loving it!

Who knows, maybe one day I ’ll go back for the interior upgrade for 22k. That and the brakes are probably the sole weaknesses left in this car.
I also want to give a hand to your people including Mike Vendetto and Joan Mercer. I hope to see you at Carlisle.
Take care,

Reeves,

I thought I would drop a quick note in regards to your request for feedback.

How do I like my Callaway SC Corvette?
I cannot put into words how much fun we have had with this car since we purchased it. We have attended numerous car shows and have had the good fortune to place in most everyone. It draws a crowd anywhere we take it. This has been the best sports car we have owned!!

What attracted us to Callaway?
The Callaway brand is quite strong in the performance sector. I believe it represents exceptional quality and workmanship but still affordable. The package on the SC Corvettes offered for us exactly what we were looking for in a sports car-quickness!!! The license tag on our Callaway is "BLINK" and its gone!

How was our buying experience with Bill Stasek Chevrolet and interaction with the Callaway team?

Bill does a fine job of representing the essence of Chevrolet and Callaway. Fine customer service during and after the sale. It is just like your entire team in Old Lye-they really strive to provide extraordinary customer service. I really appreciate the attention to detail by your staff. They work hard to make it right for the customer and Callaway Cars.

My experience with the car?
It has been a phenomenal treat. The power throughout the entire range is very exciting. The C16 hood sets the car off perfect as being the something special it is. I have had no problems with the car and will have owned it about a year next month.

What other cars have you had?

We have owned 2 other Corvettes and the Callaway SC took us to a new level of power and excitement. We have enjoyed the Callaway experience so much we recently purchased a used 1993 Callaway SN 435. We are confident they are pretty good investments.

What can we do to make the car or the buying experience and ownership more enjoyable?
The buying experience is great but I really believe you could expand the brand power of Callaway Cars to even being more aspirational than today. I would recommend expanding the store. How about more optional equipment, a lot of wearables for not only the Callaway owners but others that can/will advertise your brand. I get a lot of questions at the car shows and people wonder if they can get a hat or shirt with the current product displayed.

I have the good fortune of having my 2007 Callaway SC 560 chosen as the current "Callaway of the Quarter" on the COG site. There are some pretty good pictures plus another good story about how we joined the Callaway family. You can use my comments however you see fit. I attended Bloomington Gold and Chris was busy with a potential customer. Another potential customer came up and I started completing a product demonstration. I spent about 30 minutes with him and he asked me if I was a sales person for Bill Stasek or Callaway. I pointed to my COG shirt and told him I was a proud owner and loved the car. He returned with additional friends about 15 minutes later and we got him behind the wheel. We started the car and put the top down. He left very interested with a 2008 Callaway brochure. As you can tell, I'm pretty passionate about Callaway Cars. Keep up the good work.

Hi Pete, thought I would give you an update on my car. Ever since you guys did the Callaway supercharging conversion, the car has become an animal in its own right. This car is scary fast! Everyone that has gone for a ride says it feels and sounds like a jet taking off. I raced a brand new 2008 Z06 from 15 mph. to 120 mph. and just killed it. The guy gave me a thumbs up and went on his way. I can't wait until I get the Honker air system installed.

Thanks a million for a bad ass car.

Reeves,
I've been traveling and to say the least it been very hectic since I took delivery of my Callaway.

You ask how did I find out about Callaway?
Well I've known about your operation for years but it wasn't until I purchased my new Vette that I really began researching what you were doing. Then I saw the Callaway Corvette on display in Scottsdale at the Barrett-Jackson Auction and I was hooked. I knew I had to have this conversion done to my car and began my research. The more I read, the excitement of this becoming a reality was a must.

How was my buying experience?
Your staff was very though and reviewing the package that would be installed and outlining options that could be added. As you know, I took advantage of reviewing the add-ons and opted to start with the Callaway Corvette Option Package, and add the multi-Pro Suspension developed by Eibach and Callaway. We are still considering including Callaway wheels and the Le Mans Brake package. The car in its present form is a crowd pleaser whether I'm at a Corvette show or just showing off around town.

How was I treated by the staff?
Your staff is the simply the best. They addressed every question and need, returned my calls, e-mails and made the whole experience simply the best ever.

What has been your ownership experience? First impressions vs. longer term thoughts. Praises/ Problems?

My first impression upon pulling into the drive and seeing the car parked out front was WOW!, it looks awesome. I opened the hood, crawled underneath, reviewed my paperwork and took pictures. I know I was about ready to drive the car 1700 miles home (back to Florida) and had some concerns. Should I take it easy and give the car and all the upgrades a chance to warm up?
Sounds crazy, but upon taking delivery of my new Vette the dealership told me to be easy for the first 2000 miles. But your staff informed me the car was ready to drive, and drive I did. The car surpassed all my expectations. The handling and control was fantastic. Acceleration and performance were more than promised, and I always felt in full control regardless of speed or how windy the roads became. Upon arriving home we continue to drive the car and have put over 1000 miles on the odometer as we continually enjoy our driving experience.

What other cars have you had/enjoyed and how does the Callaway stack up?

This is my second Vette and my third sports car. Nothing I've ever owned even comes close to the driving experience you feel behind the wheel of a Callaway. I have friends who have looked into the new ZR1 and I'm letting them drive my Callaway because, in my opinion, this is a better investment and will easily match or exceed performance of any Vette on the road. I just recently surprised my friend in his Z06 and I took to some track time. I just can't get enough of this machine.

What can we do to make the car or the buying experience and ownership more enjoyable?
Nothing. I don't think the novelty of owning this car will ever wear off.

Is it OK to use your comments as a testimonial?
Please do. As you know I have access to some of the best machines available. I deal with almost every manufacture available and I would not trade my Callaway for any of them.

Thanks to you and your staff for making this one of the best decisions in modifying a car I have ever made.

Best,
Jeff

Hi Pete, Thanks for the email.

I have been really happy with my car (in the UK now) , and took a few friends for a ride - they are all flabbergasted ! But the recovery from a myocardial infarction is just a matter of time,

I will show it to the Corvette dealership on Park Lane, where I got my UK Vette from last year.

Quite enjoying the supercharger whine, especially as it spools up and howls so quickly !

The transmission tune, is quite amazing in changing the nature, and coupled with the 3.15 rear end, the car has unbelievable acceleration!

It feels very very sharp compared to a normal Vette and before. I would recommend you trying a lower ratio rear end in one of your cars for experiment's sake.

The Michelin PS2s are great, but have no chance with the torque on offer!
The car can fishtail at 60 and breaks traction as it changes gears even going from 2nd to 3rd !

Yes, very happy indeed, thank you

Plus the bodywork and look of the car is truly amazing. (Z06 Fenders)

Reeves;
Thanks for the link - this looks like a great concept. http://www.reevescallaway.com/Callaway_Europe/GT4.html
The drive back to Carlsbad in "Tex" was fun - what a real pleasure to drive. As you said, cruising at 85 @ 30 mpg! Touch the car and it responds without hesitation: acceleration, turning, braking.
This is one great ride!
Thanks,

Dear Reeves,

From the time I was a young boy I always wanted to own a Corvette. After the kids grew up I finally purchased a new 2007 Coupe and have been very satisfied with the car.

A few months ago I happened to be driving along when another ‘07 Corvette pulled beside me. I noticed the “Callaway” nameplate on the side of the car, the distinctive sound of the exhaust and the “ hood bulge.” I have to admit that having not been a Corvette enthusiast, I had never heard of a Callaway. I also have to admit that I told my 17 year old son, who loves researching about performance sports cars, that I saw a Corvette with the name Callaway that day and if he’d ever heard of the name. He looked at me, smiled and said “You saw a Callaway today?  “Dad, I can’t believe you’ve never heard of a Callaway.”

Since I had already considered installing a supercharger or turbocharger system, I did some research on the internet and took a look at your site. I also started to research the differences between the Callaway Supercharger system vs. the performance and specs of competitive bolt-on products.

The following Sunday, I sent an email to the contact address listed on your site to obtain additional information. I was amazed that on that same Sunday I received an immediate reply from Pete. He provided me with the details of the program, installation information and most importantly for me the warranty. (Since my car is still under the GM factory warranty, I was hesitant about using a product that could potentially void the warranty.) Finding out that the Callaway warranty did not void the GM warranty was a major factor and I took the car in.

I have to say that throughout the process, from the day I dropped the car off until I picked it up, the service was excellent. You and your staff treated me with class and I was kept informed of the installation progress and it was done on-time.

After taking delivery of the car, I have been more than impressed with the performance. I always thought that my Corvette was a high performance automobile. However, after driving my new “Callaway Corvette” I can’t begin to tell you how it has exceeded my expectations. I love the sound of the exhaust, the appearance of the badging and most of all, the acceleration. It should be called “exhilaration” and you truly do turn an already great production sports car into a “Powerfully Engineered Automobile.”

A very satisfied customer,

Steve

Congratulations (on the FIA GT3 European Championship) and having owned 1987 through 1991 a total of 9 Twin Turbo Callaway’s, I can safely say you make the very best modified Corvettes in the industry. I hope to be able to see you whenever I’am in California.

Hello Callaways,

Thanks for the E-Mail. I wanted you and Peter to know how much I am enjoying the 2007 Callaway Supercharged coupe that I purchased from
Rollie Purifoy Chevrolet. I had a 2006 Z06 before, but this car I am now driving is really something. Looks fabulous in the Atomic Orange.

About three weeks ago, Rollie replaced the hood with a new C-16 hood that Mike shipped out and
there is no comparison with respect to fit and overall quality. I sincerely appreciate the support and responsiveness on this issue.

This is my second Callaway. Had a ' 90 black B2K Twin Turbo that was a barn burner.
Thanks again for the E-Mail, the support, and the driving pleasure my Callaway provides!

Kindest Regards,

Denny

The ownership experience: what can I say? I love the car so much I can't stop talking about it and your firm. I think the wife tunes me out now and just acts like she's interested! The improvements in what is already a fantastic car are so great that every owner should seriously consider contacting Callaway Cars. For less than $100K you have a car that outperforms most exotics. I must have shown it to dozens of people. In fact, I might be one of your best rolling advertisements. Most that have seen it now want a Vette and are very curious about what "Callaway" means.

The process could not be better. Your people are so great at following up, and I’m very impressed that you brought up the hood issue with me at Carlisle long after I gave you the “big check.” (You’ll be getting another one very soon!) Now I just need to have you sign the hood next time I see you at a car show.

I have not had a chance to try your driving tip yet. I will very soon and will let you know my experience with it.

Funny- you bring up the suspension. That was one of the upgrades I've mentioned to Mike Vendetto. I'm planning on bringing the car back within the next few months for that and the power upgrade. As you well know Corvette owners always want more power.

Stephen

Dear Reeves & Pete,

I’ve had my car for (2) two weekends (the only time I really get to play with it) now and there is just no words to express the joy of driving my supercharged C6.  This thing is an “E” ticket ride.  Pete, you may not be old enough to know what an “E” ticket ride is so just ask Reeves.

The most enjoyment I’ve had so far is racing my friend who put nitrous on his C6 and is supposedly putting out an additional 150h.p.  We raced 4 times and it really was not much of a race on his part.  He had told all our friends he would blow my doors off.  My response to him was the only way he was going to blow my doors off was if his engine blew up.  Anyway, after four races he was pretty much speechless.  The only thing he said was “I am really impressed with Callaway’s work”.

Anyone who really loves Corvettes and horsepower absolutely must have Callaway supercharge their car... for a thrill of a lifetime.  Best money I ever spent.

Thanks again,

Erbie

Thank you for the driving tip and for even taking the time to send it to me. I will definitely follow this directive.

I have only driven this beautiful, extremely powerful, machine a couple of miles since I took delivery...too many other commitments, and it isn't registered yet. I'm sure it will take a while to get familiar with the car and especially with the extreme performance. This is exactly what I was looking for, actually more (more is usually better), and I am so glad of my chance meeting with Mr. Vendetto, your excellent representative, that facilitated this purchase.

I really was not very aware of your company, or it's services, prior to meeting with Mr. Vendetto and subsequently purchasing the car; however, I have a very wide array of friends and acquaintances and I am spreading the message far and wide. Yesterday a friend called me from northern MI promising to come here to steal it (joking), as he was told about it from a mutual friend (Z06) in TN that I had informed of my purchase.

If numbers are to be believed, this Callaway Corvette will keep up with all of the high roller cars: Porsches, Ferraris, etc. at a reasonable cost and it is American. My son has one of each and at first he was a little derisive as "a Corvette is an old man's car". Now he is backing off since I challenged him to a little one on one on the road. I think it will blow the Porsche 911 off and probably stay even with the Ferrari F430. With a little luck you may be providing him and some of his big buck buddies with some high speed hardware.

Thank you again for the tip and for the Callaway Corvette. I wish you continuing success.

And here are Jim's comments after three weeks of ownership:

Reeves,
It was a nice car. Now it is a deadly serious sports car - not in the sense of being difficult or intimidating, just wondrously capable.

The first morning, while negotiating a traffic circle, someone tried to come around the wrong side. I snicked it down a gear (the shifter modification is priceless) and gave it enough throttle to move me back in the seat a fair amount but not enough to move the back end out. Holy cow! It responds more precisely with the added power, and that was just the beginning of my voyage of discovery.

This is what the car should have always been like. There is enough power to cause me to appreciate the things I learned on four hundred pound 160hp. sportbikes, but the delivery is linear and predictable. I smile a lot. To be honest, my thoughts are now turning to next summer at the beach. Maybe it'll be the brakes/suspension. Couldn't possibly do that without the cam and heads. We'll see.

There are very few things in life, at least for me, that greatly exceed my expectations. Thank you very much for creating such a wonderful and continuing experience.

This Spring I had Callaway modify my car with their Magnuson supercharger producing 560hp at sea level, standard day. I live at 3200ft near Tucson AZ now and at 100 degree temperatures in the summertime I figure there is a power loss from SAE dyno results. When I drove the car to Seattle to do the rear end swap and descended into that Pacific Northwest cool air I discovered a dramatic performance increase.

I recently arranged to have a 3:42 rear end put in my 07 automatic in place of the 2:56, at the dealer where I purchased the car. After disassembly, the discovery was a 30 spline output shaft from the transmission. The 3:42 differential has 27 splines. The only 30 spline differentials made are the 2:73 and the 2:56. At least that was the conclusion drawn after consulting with the owner of Northwest Differentials. The dealer felt bad that they did not know the swap would not work and the experience only cost me the drive North. By the time I got there anyway I was asking myself "Do I really want to do this?" and was actually relieved when it didn't work. It seems the laws of unintended consequences were waiting for me if the swap had been successful. The transmission senses speed and rpm's in combination and who knows what else. With the supercharger getting 29mpg highway and able to outrun a Z06 to 200mph, I am very happy with my Atomic Orange convertible.

Reeves,

Thank you for the note on the race wins - it was very interesting.

My car attracts more attention than the Queen of England wherever I go, particularly in Marblehead where so many people remember you.

Motor Burns keeps telling me to say Hi for him. He is the one who sent me to Callaway and I am sure glad he did.

The car is fantastic and sure collects attention.

Pete,

Just a short note to let you know how pleased and excited I am to be the
proud owner of a Callaway supercharged C6. The body work is perfect, the
polished blower housing and body color injector covers are awe inspiring and
the car so strong that it can take my breath away. Toward the end of the
drive home, on a dark dry, and lonely stretch of Idaho highway, I had chance
to test my nerve. Because this is not a secure means of communication and I
would run the risk of incriminating myself, I won't be able to provide
specifics. Suffice it to say that this car will be a thrill to drive and
own. I just can't emphasize enough how good they look, sound, and run.
With just the slightest squeeze of the throttle, the car will jump 35 mph in
an instant. The power comes on so smoothly and so fast that it's easy to
lose track of speed altogether.

Thanks for making the experience even more special by delivering the cars to
Spring Mountain. Clair and I had a great couple of days there in spite of
the rain and look forward to going back there next summer with our
supercharged Corvettes. We were glad to hear that before long Spring
Mountain will be adding a Callaway car to their fleet.

I just wanted to let you know that I have never been happier with a car as I am with this Callaway Corvette. Everyone compliments me when I show the car at all the car shows, locally and at major events. In all the years and of all the cars I have owned, this one is the crowd favorite, the one I will keep in the family. As a 100% car guy, this is the right car for me. This is a masterpiece, with upgrades of full suspension, brakes, wheels, tires and, of course SUPERCHARGED!!!

I love it. And there is a long list of those waiting to buy if i decide to sell (which would only be if I sent you a new 2008 Orange convertible to enhance).
I have been meaning to write you a letter thanking you for a wonderful job done on my Corvette, and I will try to get that out soon so you can post it to your web site. Nothing but praises.

Reeves, Pete, Mike & Joanne,
Thank you for all your hospitality both at the shop and at the Carlisle show, we had a great time!
The car ran great, I love the sound the supercharger makes and on two tanks of gas we got 32.4 &31.8 mpg

I thought at one point we were going to have to stop and drain some of the gas out of the tank to keep it from overflowing, it must have been making gas somehow.

...

Again thanks for everything, we love our Callaway Corvette and hope to see all of you sometime in the near future.

Thanks,
